Protien Dosa






The first time I made this dosa was when I fell short of urad dal. I did not follow any recipe in particular then.

Later I replaced rice with barley and tried the recipe and it came out great.

Ingredients for protein dosa:

½ cup urad dal

½ cup masoor dal

¼ th cup chana dal

¼ th cup toor dal

½ cup moong whole or split moong dal

1 cup barley.

Serves – 4

Method:

Wash all the dal and grains atleast 3 times in water. Using fresh water every time.

Soak everything in a large bowl atleast for 4 hours.

Now drain the water and grind using mixer grinder or grinder or a blender till a smooth mixture.

Add 2 tbsp water at regular intervals.

Make sure you don’t add excess water. It should be a thick batter.

Ferment for 3-4 hours.

After fermentation it can hold up to ½ cup water.

Add salt to taste.

Mix well.

Heat a pan and grease it well.

Pour a ladle full of batter and swirl around to form a dosa.

Grease the dosa with ghee or oil.

Cover the dosa for a few seconds(this will not make the dosa dry) and let it cook till the dosa turns out crisp.

Flip and cook other side.

Remove the dosa from the pan.

Serve hot with chutney or pickle. 



Aps Notes:

The Dals mentioned can be changed from ¼ th to half and ½ to ¼ th there will be a little difference but nothing much.

You can cook this dosa instantly without fermenting but fermenting would result in a tastier dosa.

You can use legumes and lentils of your choice too. You can add vegetables and make it more colorful and wholesome. This dosa is a complete meal by itself.
