It was always a success when I prepared bread at home when I was In Saudi… but here I nevr like the yeat which we got (The Blue Bird Brand) it never even proofed. This was not only my problem but few days before when I was just having a chit chat vth Prathibha she too told me the same….
The making of pav was a super flop twice so I decided to borrow yeast from one of my friend who is good at baking…. I loved tht yeast and it gave me delicious Bread…I got to know now which brand was it and let u all know. It just fluffed like a darling and I enjoyed making the bread and we enjoyed the bread with bhaji (instead of Pav).

So here is the recipe for a Simple white Bread
Ø 3/4 cup warm water
Ø 1 package active dry yeast
Ø 1 tsp salt
Ø 1-1/2 tbsp sugar
Ø 1 tbsp vegetable oil
Ø 1/2 cup milk
Ø 3 cups all-purpose flour, approximately
Preparation
v In large bowl, add the warm water. Slowly stir in dry yeast and sugar . Continue to stir until yeast is dissolved and allow it to proof for 15 minutes.
v Now to the yeast Add salt, oil, and milk to bowl. Stir.
v Mix in the first 2 cups of flour.
v If needed, begin adding more flour, one tablespoon at a time.
v You do not need to use up all the flour required for in this recipe, or you may need more flour than required. The amounts vary depending on many factors, including weather, which is why most bread recipes only give an approximate amount of flour as needed.
v Turn dough out onto floured board and knead, adding small spoonfuls of flour as needed, until the dough is soft and smooth, not sticky.
v Put dough in buttered bowl, turn dough over so that the top of dough is greased. Cover and let rise in warm spot for 1 hour.
v Punch down dough. Turn out onto floured board and knead.
v Preheat oven at 180 degrees C.
v Form dough into loaf and set in buttered bread pan. Cover and let rise for about 30 minutes.
v Put in oven and bake for about 45 minutes or until golden brown.
v Turn out bread and let cool on a rack.Cut into slices and serve accordingly.
